The Institute
Expanding the future of cardiovascular
medicine, the Genesis Heart Institute
opened in October 2001. The new home for Cardiovascular
Medicine, P.C. has greatly improved its clinical offices, diagnostic services, and on the first floor
highlights the program's cardiac rehab facilities and reinforce the importance of secondary disease management.
The Institute was built on the current multidisciplinary association of cardiologists, cardio-thoracic and vascular surgeons as they collaborate on the best approach to manage and treat cardiovascular diseases. The infrastructure of the Institute brings together the most talented professionals across the many medical disciplines to bring added value and expertise to the Quad City region.
Thus, the Genesis Heart Institute is more than a building.
It is an evolving organization comprised of the many cardiovascular providers in the Eastern Iowa-Western Illinois Region. The Institute
plays a key role in developing the solid base of clinical outcome information stored in a comprehensive cardiac clinical data base. It
facilitates access to the most advanced devices, drugs, and treatment protocols through its ever-expanding research organization. It
links regional clinicians driven by excellence in patient care.

The healthcare organizations associated with the Institute, such as Genesis Medical Center, have a track record of high patient and physician satisfaction, emphasize value to their customers and are recognized by their various communities for superior service.
The Genesis East Campus construction also included a major investment to increase interventional capacity. The Cath Lab, including EP,
has been expanded from four labs to six. The surgical facilities
have been increased by two new large OR suites and improved support services. Additional parking with a multi-level parking ramp
has added convenience for the physicians, patients, family members and staff.
